The 16 Month Terrible Twos and A Shin Splint

Good morning everyone! My weeks seem to have gotten busier and busier! And school starts on the 20th...basketball and football have already started..whew!
So far on the marathon training it has been great. Everyday gets easier and I love it now and can't wait til the next day so I can do it again. However, I think I may have a shin splint. When Thing 2 was a few months old I started running and felt an sharp pain in my shin area but just accounted it to getting older and pushing myself too hard. Then I just quit exercising, but the pain in my shin was still there and hasn't ever gone away. Last night, the pain was pretty bad and the Hubs suggested I do some research. So, I guess I will be making a doctors appointment, which I need to do anyway. I've also had these weird and extreme fatique days where I just want to sleep and I've never ever been like that. Anyway....now to the fun stuff.
Last night the kids spent the night with nana and the Hubs and I took Thing 2 to Logans Steakhouse. I must admit I had 3 rolls and don't regret it. Bread is my weakness and I love it. It was past little dude's bedtime, but we gave him a few sips of Coke and he ate french fries and bread rolls, so we thought he'd last a little while. WHAT WERE WE THINKING? We've been through this before and know better...yeah right. He threw a fit, so the Hubs took him outside to let him 'air' it out. He loves outside, by the way. The Hubs brings him back in and all heck broke loose. Since I'm 10 years older than when I had the last baby, I'm a little better and the fits don't affect me as much as they used to. So, I let him have my salad and make a mess. Worked for a little bit more, so we just decided to leave. Here comes the fun part...
Finally get him in the Hoe after he took off in the parking lot and he proceeds to let the demons loose!!! OH MY GOODNESS....it took both of us and almost 5 minutes to get him in the carseat! So....my fellow parents...PLEASE give me some ideas as to what to do! He is a very independent child and doesn't seem to listen at all...Ugh..HELP!!

#3 State Champions and Other Musings

WOW...it has been an insane 2 weeks. I'm sorry my posts have been lacking as of late. My sons baseball team went all the way to the State Tournament for the 2nd year in a row. And, they placed #1 in their League and #1 in their District. We parents couldn't be more proud of them. After playing almost every single night for 2 weeks in a row after a long season and District games, we lost last night. We are #3 IN THE STATE!!!
But, if I may brag a little! My husband is the head coach and they couldn't have a better coach. And, my son....Oh, my boy. He is the shining star year after year. When he was 2 he was asked what he wanted to be when we grew up. His response was a serious one: "To be like my daddy and to play baseball." He started playing on a team when he was 4 and has been a star ever since. Everyone we play knows my boy and there aren't words for the swelling of pride I have for him. These are all the trophies for this season. My son is going to need more shelves!

Ok, I feel better! Also, we have moved all our home remodeling projects til after the games and so my house is just getting on my nerves. So Monday after a long awaited and 'getting on my nerves' period, we will finally have new carpet! Yah! My hubby finally got all the hardwood floor down and it's beautiful, of course. I am so excited to get my house back in order. I am a little OCD and like extreme order, even with 3 kids and a hubby.
I've tried to keep y'all up to date with the best deals I could keep track of.
I've also found myself another endevour and am super excited and hope and pray it's a success. I like to sew and design things and come up with new ideas all the time thinking I'm going to be the next Donald Trump..with hair, of course. I have found a great distributor of these elastic fold over bands and will be selling them on my other business side. One of my friends is getting my logo all designed up and I'm in anxious anticipation. So, when all things get up to speed, I shall let everyone know.
So until then, everyone have a blessed weekend. It's another busy one for us with a friends wedding. Next week, the girls basketball practices start, then foosball for the boy in 2 weeks. I couldn't be happier if not tired!

My Amazing Crazy Weekend

Well, of course this weekend was Father's Day! I am so completely blessed to have the most amazing husband in the world. He is my rock and the best daddy any kid could ever have. I know my sons will grow up to be men I am proud of and that my daughter will know and accept a man only like her daddy. They will be strong individuals that have confidence in themselves because of him. I couldn't be prouder. Here is what the girl did to daddy...

This weekend was also part of the District Tournament that our boys' baseball team is in. We are #2 in our District unless we win tonight, then we'll be #1!! If we win, we have to play the same team AGAIN right after that! Gesh...I'm already STRESSIN' out!!! But, since we are definetly #2 we are going to State, baby!! I am so proud of these boys, but most proud of my son. He has always 'shown' up and played his hardest and best. His team voted him All-Star, so that shows you how amazing he is..and, well...he's my son, so he automatically gets #1 in my vote! Look at him...he's so awesome!!

My hubs and Thing 1 laid down the tile in the living room and it looks amazing! Hopefully, Hubs will finish grouting it and the carpet can get ordered.

Foosball signups was this weekend and I am NOT the most excited person. I tried and so did the Hubs to deter him, but nope...he loves the adrenaline and the sport. I just have to keep my faith strong that the Lord will protect him and the rest of the boys. And, they will be going shopping for all the things you can buy to protect him. Hello, Hibbett...you shall see the Visa soon!!!
Now, I must prepare for Thing 1's bday that is Friday...I can't believe he will be 10...:( I also just seemed to notice that he's GROWN...heck, when did that happen?!
Oh, well, now time to schedule my hectic week...need more coffee!

A River Runs Through It

Glad to be back to the land of the computer and Cloud! The rooms and hallway are finally dry after 6 fans blowing for 3 solid days. The noise was getting on all of our nerves. The water got all in our daughters room, the hallway and all the way into the living room. I was mainly worried about the damage to the entertainment center. But, it was ok.
The awesome news out of all the damage is that we're getting new tile, carpet and hardwood floors. God always works it all out even better than we anticipated. Here are some pics just for fun.

Some of the fans

The massive entertainment center my The Hubs custom built for me. The water heater was on the other side of the wall.

Took 4 guys to move the thing

Good-bye hardwood floor and carpet in the girls room.

Just One of Those Days

Ever had One Of Those Days? Ugh. Yesterday my daughter comes out of her room and says, "Momma, there's something wrong with my room. Just come take a look. It's leaking."

Immediately my mind is going .. What the crap?!

This after a day of Thing 2 being extremely whiney, the other two fighting and yelling all day and me cramping (but, thank God I'm not preggers, which I thought I was!)

I went all exorcist on things, I admit. In my daughters room in her closet is their water heater...one of the pipes had cracked. I called the Hubs, well, I called yelling at the Hubs and of course, he came to the rescue. Whether rescuing me or the house, it's no telling.

My daughters room had about an inch of water in it, it has gone into the living room and under our custom made entertainment center. UGHHHHH!!!

So...I am waiting on All Clean to come and try to start damage repair.

The Love of Baseball..and the Defeat

Ok, ok..I know it's late and I wasn't prepared to be writing tonight. BUT...I just have to share.
Tonight my son and our baseball boys had a game and so far we have been 10-0! My husband, who is also the coach, promised the boys if we contined on undefeated, he would treat them to a special day at the Dickey Stephens Ballpark. I know the GM and was going to do some pretty special stuff for them.
Weelllll....we didn't win tonight:( However...my boy got 2 HOMERUNS!! Woop woop!!
This game seriously stresses me out. Sometimes I have to close my eyes and sometimes I go home with no voice and so emotionally tired! Thank goodness everyone loves Thing 2. I get so involved with the game the other parents keep up with him! Lord.
So Thing 1 and the Hubs comes out of the dugout completely upset and depressed. You can tell them over and over it's just a game, but lets face it...It's MORE THAN THAT! And, I know that the ride home is gonna be a killer..ugh.
The Hubs is still stressed out and I told him what he tells his boys..."Suck it up, tomorrows a new day." Yep, I said it. I thought it was rather funny..he didn't. Ha! So, I've gotta go console the boys.
Aahhh...the life of the Baseball Mom.
