Birthday Party..Saga 2

Well...after running around and trying to decide what to do for Ashes bday party, I've finally decided. It will be a Jack Jack party after all.

Ashdon's 1st BDay Party Planning

I can't believe it....my little dude is fixing to be 1 YEAR OLD!!! I tried to make time go slower and saver each and every moment, good or bad. But...time just kept ticking. :( Boohoo!!! That means I've got a party to plan...and only have 5 days to do it!! Everyone calls him Jack-Jack off The Incredibles and yes, he does look just like him. However, trying to find birthday or party supplies in Jack-Jack has proved impossible. I looked online at Party City and found some very cute safari stuff. He loves his lion from Scentsy so that's where the idea came from. So...I'm off to Hobby Lobby to see what I can come up with.

Things to do in Gatlinburg - Things to do in the Smokies

Really excited about our Spring Break vacation. We've always done Florida, so we thought this year we'd branch out. Hoping the long trip won't cause the baby to freak out! Should be some fun posts coming up!

National Pi Day

Good morning, world! Happy Pi Day! Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pi to learn more about it.
So, for my daughters math class, I made a cheesecake. Well, I'll be honest. I made TWO cheesecakes..I wanted one for us, too! It was actually a lot easier than I thought. And it would have turned out prettier if I had used my springform pan. The reason for the cheesecake is that it was her teachers fav 'pie'. I don't really consider a cheesecake a pie or a cake. Maybe a 'pake'...sorry, trying to be funny today!
Have a great day!

Baseball and Softball Day

Good morning, World! Well, today was supposed to be a yucky, cold and rainy day....BUT! ... today has turned out sunny and warm. What better way to play baseball?! I admit, though I love to watch the girl play basketball, I am one baseball lovin' momma. This year, she has decided to play softball. Should be interesting, since Thing 1 plays baseball and their schedules will conflict. I am known as The Mom for a reason, though. I WILL be there for both practices and games if I have to make a poster of myself. Ha! So..today is Hibbett day. Off to spend tons of money on the 'stuff' it takes to play. And, I'll admit, I'm an Under Armour kinda girl. Then off to watch the boys practice (giddy giggles) with Thing 2 while he tries to eat the grass.Did I say I loved baseball?
And, since I love my own personal t-shirts...I will be going to my favorite place..Hobby Lobby and creating my own since it's over $20 to get it done and it's never what I really wanted in the first place. That's a different day and we'll have fun together creating ... or trying to!
TTFN people!
Yes people...this is perfection. Get his autograph while you can! Hee hee

Toddler Towels

A few months ago, I noticed that the hooded towels I got for the baby were no longer big enough for him. I went to Target and Walmart, but to no avail. Then I went online looking and found some great towels that were for toddlers and older. However, I didn't like the prices and hey...the economy sucks! So...the adventurous type I am, I did some googling. Lo and behold...Pinterest again! Yes, my dear friends...the 'crack' for women as I call it, comes through again! Thanks to http://www.makeandtakes.com/easy-hooded-bath-towel I got my idea! One lesson I learned...if you don't sew the ends of the cut towel or cover the ends with ribbon or such, the ends come apart. My baby is 25lbs and 34" long (I know..he's huge!)
You will need the following:
1 Hand Towel
1 Bath Towel
Ribbon, Scissors, Sewing Machine (unless you're really talented with a needle!), etc

First, cut the hand towel down the middle. You will use 1/2 of a hand towel for each towel.

Cut the bath towel down the middle.
Attach the ends as shown with pins and sew.
Sew the top part of the 'hood' together. Add decorative ribbon trim or rick-rack, or whatever you choose to do...wherever you want.
Remember to zigzag the end of the bath towel before you add trim or it will come unraveled as such:
End result: One Cute Towel until they get bigger! Then use the whole towel.

I bought all of these towels at WalMart. The solid colors were $4 and $6 respectively and the dotted one was $6 and $9 (As of today, they were on sale!)
Have fun and show me your tots towels! I'll try to get a picture of the baby with him wrapped in one...today, he didn't feel like cooperating (little sucker!)

Hello World!

Hello World! I have been asked by several people to start a blog all about my un-ordinary life. So....here goes. I haven't really got a clue as to how to go about this, but here I am..hear me ROAR! Ha.
Starting out...my name is Becky, wife of 'B', mom to 1 girl and 2 boys (aka Thing 1 & 2 by the girl), 1 cat and 1 dog. There is probably a place for me to put this stuff on, but I'm writing this and waiting to see what Thing 2 (the 11 month old as my daughter puts it) is getting into...gotta go check. Hmmm...he pooped, wouldn'tya know it.
Baseball season has started (oh joy...the parents) and the girl wants to play softball. Wondering where my clone is that I ordered a couple of years ago. Then, again...do we really want another me?! Probably not.
Wondering what this blog is all about?...well fear not...you won't ever have to wonder, because it's going to cover just about everything (esp thanks to www.pinterest.com!) Talk about an addiction! I would have prefered it to by anonymous so I can rant and rave about anything, but we'll see how much damage I do now.
Oh, yeah...I must give a shout-out to the Anna's friend, Lexi for coming up with the name of this blog. We were riding back from somewhere and she said, "You're so crazy, Miss Becky. You are an unordinary mom!" And...well, the rest is fixing to be history.
BTW...because of a pinterest pin, I need tires that are 12-13"...let me know if anyone has any!
TTFN!
